Terms of Service

Effective Date: March 26, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website, client portal, partner portal, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”) operated by Nomos Insights LLC (“Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), an Illinois limited liability company. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. No Attorney-Client Relationship from Website Use

Browsing this website, submitting a matter inquiry or intake form, scheduling a consultation, or communicating with the Firm through the Platform does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is established only upon execution of a written engagement letter signed by both you and the Firm. Until an engagement letter is fully executed, you should not transmit any information you consider confidential or privileged through the Platform.

2. Scope of Services

Nomos Insights LLC is a transactional law firm licensed to practice in the State of Illinois. Our practice areas include renewable energy transactions, commercial real estate, entity formation, trust and estate planning, commercial transactions, employer law, business succession, and agricultural law. The information provided on this Platform is for general informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice. Legal advice can only be given after the Firm has been retained and has had an opportunity to evaluate the specific facts and circumstances of your matter.

3. Client Portal and Partner Portal

Certain features of the Platform are available only to registered users. The Client Portal provides existing clients with secure access to matter information, documents, messaging, billing, and scheduling. The Partner Portal provides professional partners (CPAs, financial advisors, bankers) with access to consented client information in accordance with Illinois Rule of Professional Conduct 1.6.

By creating a portal account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Use the portal only for lawful purposes related to your engagement with the Firm.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate portal access at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason consistent with our professional obligations.

4. Intake and Scheduling

The Platform provides matter intake forms and consultation scheduling tools. Submitting an intake form or scheduling a consultation does not guarantee that the Firm will accept your matter. All new matters are subject to conflict checking and attorney review before an engagement decision is made. We will respond to intake submissions within one to two business days.

5. AI-Assisted Services

The Firm uses artificial intelligence tools to assist with document analysis, summarization, clause review, and other legal research functions. These tools are used under attorney supervision and review. All AI-generated analysis is reviewed by a licensed attorney before being relied upon or communicated to clients.

Before any client information is processed by AI systems, we apply rigorous data sanitization procedures to remove personally identifiable information (PII), including Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers, bank account numbers, and other sensitive data. We do not send Tier 1 PII (SSN, EIN, financial account numbers) to any external AI service. For more detail on our data handling practices, please review our Privacy Policy.

6. Electronic Communications

By providing your email address through the Platform, you consent to receive electronic communications from the Firm, including matter updates, billing notifications, scheduling confirmations, document requests, and engagement-related correspondence. Communications are sent from our dedicated mailbox (noreply@nomos-insights.com) via secure channels. You may opt out of non-essential communications by contacting us directly.

7. Document Storage

Client documents uploaded through the Platform are stored in our secure Microsoft SharePoint environment, which is part of our Microsoft 365 Business tenancy. Documents are organized by matter and practice area. We apply appropriate access controls, and client portal users may only access documents associated with their own matters.

8. Payment and Billing

Fee arrangements are set forth in individual engagement letters and may include hourly, flat, contingency, or hybrid fee structures. The Platform may facilitate electronic payment through third-party payment processors. All trust account funds are maintained in compliance with the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) rules governing Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (IOLTA) pursuant to Illinois Rule of Professional Conduct 1.15.

9. Data Sharing and Consent

The Firm may share limited, non-privileged client information with professional partners (such as CPAs or financial advisors) only with your explicit, informed consent. Our consent process complies with Illinois Rule of Professional Conduct 1.6, which governs the confidentiality of information relating to the representation of a client. You will receive a full disclosure document before any data is shared, and you may revoke consent at any time through the Client Portal. Consent expires automatically after twelve months unless renewed.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this Platform, including text, design, logos, graphics, and software, is the property of Nomos Insights LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on the Platform without prior written consent.

11. Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we make commercially reasonable efforts to maintain the availability, security, and accuracy of the Platform, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Firm shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform.

This limitation does not apply to any liability arising from the Firm’s professional obligations under an executed engagement letter or from the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct.

12. Third-Party Services

The Platform integrates with third-party services including Microsoft 365, Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, DocuSign, and Anthropic Claude. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. While we select these providers based on their security and reliability, we are not responsible for their actions or omissions. For details on how data flows to these services, see our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Illinois.

14. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For registered portal users, we will provide notice of material changes via email or portal notification.
